Erin Bauman never got to finish the Boston Marathon in 2013. But on Monday, she finally completed the 26.2-mile route.

Bauman was greeted at the finish line around 5:20 p.m. by her husband, Jeff Bauman — a survivor who lost his lower legs in the 2013 attacks while he was waiting to watch Erin complete the race.

The Boston Athletic Association had pulled some strings to get Erin a bib to run, which she decided to do on Friday.

Jeff said his wife did not train for the event.

“She’s a beast,” he said, smiling. “A beautiful beast.”

He said he was very proud of her.

She ran the marathon in 5 hours and 56 minutes, according to the Boston Athletic Association.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is portraying Jeff in “Stronger,” a movie based on Jeff’s book. (“Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany will play Erin in the movie.) Earlier Monday, the actor and the survivor threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park, and on Sunday joined runners at the pre-race pasta dinner.

Erin and Jeff had a daughter in July 2014.
