Boston Marathon bombings survivor Marc Fucarile wasn’t exactly ecstatic about his finishing time, but he was happy to have competed in this year’s men’s handcycle race.
Fucarile said he took time to goof around along the race route, and greeted people who came to watch him race.
He said he was motivated by the “support” of so many people, and pumped up by the small blue tooth speaker connected to his chair.
Fucarile kept his composure and seemed in good spirits as he reflected on his experience at the finish line, amid a throng of reporters.
He said he never lets the events of 2013, where he lost a leg during the Boston Marathon bombings, get him down.
