Swampscott police are investigating after a jogger found the body of a man on King's Beach early Saturday morning, officials said.
The body is that of a white man in his mid-5os, according to police. The man appears to have died of accidental drowning, said Carrie Kimball Monahan, a spokeswoman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. Tentatively, Monahan said, he is being identified as a homeless man from Lynn.
She said his identity will not be released until next of kin is notified.
Foul play is not suspected, police said. Police said the body was discovered around 5:30 a.m.
