State Police and the Boston Fire Department have extinguished a car fire on Albany Street near Interstate 93, officials said.

The vehicle has been removed and the scene is clear, said Trooper Paul Sullivan, a State Police spokesman.

State police received a call about the flames at 2:35 p.m., Sullivan said.

Sullivan said he did not know if anyone was inside the car or if there were any injuries.

Flames were extinguished just after 3 p.m., said Steve MacDonald, a spokesman for the fire dpeartment.

The ramp from I-93 South to Albany was temporarily closed, State Police said on Twitter.
