Seven people were rescued from a fishing boat off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard Saturday afternoon after it caught on fire at the entrance of Menemsha Harbor.
The Chilmark Harbormaster responded to the fire at about 4:45 p.m. and took all seven people from the boat to the shore, according to US Coast Guard Petty Officer Andrew Barresi. No injuries have been reported.
The Coast Guard also responded to the scene. Barresi said until the boat is cleared from the water, it could be a navigation hazard for other boaters.
