Six Flags New England's Goliath roller coaster is closed indefinitely after a malfunction with one of its cables occurred Monday, a spokeswoman said.

Jennifer McGrath said the ride was not in operation when a "minor malfunction" took place.

"The ride will remain closed until the part has been replaced, and we will reopen the ride following a full safety inspection," McGrath said in a statement.

She said that because the malfunctioning cable is a specialty part, the park does not have any information about when the ride might reopen.

The roller coaster debuted at the Agawam amusement park in 2012, according to its website. Speeds reach a peak of 65 miles per hour during the 92-second ride, and it's 191 feet high at its tallest point.
