A wrong-way driver crashed into another car on Interstate 495 in Mansfield early Wednesday in a collision that killed the operators of both vehicles, according to State Police.
The woman, a 24-year-old from Middleborough whose name was not released, was driving in the opposite direction of traffic on the southbound side of I-495 at around 2 a.m., State Police said in a statement.
Her Nissan Sentra crashed head-on into another car in the middle lane of the highway near Exit 13, State Police said. The driver of that car, a 27-year-old man from Taunton, and the woman were both pronounced dead at the scene.
