Spotty showers on Tuesday should clear eastern Massachusetts by the late afternoon, followed by another stretch of warm, sunny, and dry weather.

“Clouds this morning should give way to partly sunny skies across eastern [Massachusetts] during the afternoon,’’ the National Weather Service wrote Tuesday. “High temps will be in the 70s and some partial sunshine will likely emerge from east to west’’ Tuesday afternoon.

Overnight temperatures could drop down into the 50s overnight in Greater Boston, followed by warmer weather on Wednesday when temperatures reach into the 70s. Later in the week, temperatures are expected to return to the 80s.

The concern about drought conditions continues, forecasters said.
