Westbound lanes of the Ted Williams Tunnel were closed Thursday afternoon because of a car fire, according to State Police.

Troopers and Boston firefighters were working at the scene. The tunnel was closed to traffic at Exit 25.

State Police warned drivers to be wary of disruptions to traffic coming from Logan International Airport and Route 1.

Steve MacDonald, a Boston Fire Department spokesman, said the fire has been put out, and State Police will determine when it is appropriate to reopen the lanes. No injuries have been reported.

A call about the incident came in around 2:30 p.m.
