State Police have received approximately 900 tips as they continue to seek answers in the case of Vanessa Marcotte, the New York resident who was jogging in Princeton when she was abducted and killed on Aug. 7.

Two weeks after her death, police have not apprehended a suspect or publicly identified a person of interest. But David Procopio, a State Police spokesman, said the agency has been getting an increasing number of tips from the public.

Last week at this time, police had received 612 tips in the case, Procopio said.

“The investigating is extremely active on multiple fronts. In order to protect the integrity of he ongoing investigation, we will not discuss any specific details,” he said in a statement.

Procopio also encouraged anyone with information to call the anonymous state police tip line at 508-453-7589.
