Woman found in connection to June slaying in E. Boston

Police sought the public’s help in identifying this woman in connection with an East Boston homicide.

Boston police said Thursday that they had found a woman they were looking to interview in connection with a June homicide in East Boston.

On June 15, police found 18-year-old Blanca Lainez dead inside a garage at 54 Princeton St., Boston police said in a statement. She sustained traumatic injuries, police said.

Police in July arrested 16-year-old Jose Alejandro Hernandez of East Boston on murder charges. He was previously arraigned in East Boston Municipal Court.

Boston police were searching for a woman in connection with the murder, and posted photographs and video clips of her Thursday morning.

Police said in a Twitter post shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday that the woman had been identified and interviewed.
