Small earthquake hits near Sangerville, Maine

A small earthquake on Tuesday struck the area of Maine around Sangerville, the United States Geological Survey said.

The 1.8-magnitude earthquake struck an area about four miles away from Sangerville about 4:21 a.m. Tuesday, the USGS said.

The Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office said they had not heard of any disturbance from the earthquake.
