Man charged with second offense OUI in Lincoln crash

A 36-year-old Waltham man was arrested on a second offense drunk driving charge Tuesday after he was involved in a two-car crash on Route 117 in Lincoln that sent himself and another driver to local hospitals.

Lincoln police Sgt. Anthony Moran declined to release the man’s name, saying that there is an open investigation.

The man was charged with operating under the influence, second offense, causing serious bodily harm; leaving the scene of a personal injury accident; driving to endanger; resisting arrest; and failing to keep left.

The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. on an area near Codman Road, according to Lincoln police. The driver of each vehicle were taken to area hospitals for treatment, and at least one person was left with serious injury, police said in a statement posted on Facebook.


The incident is being investigated by the Lincoln police, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office, police said.
