Two men will be charged in connection with the destruction of an LGBT newspaper box in downtown Salem.

The box for the Rainbow Times, the region's largest LGBT newspaper, was blown up Aug. 23. The incident was captured on surveillance video, which showed seven people just before the explosion. But only two were seen placing the explosive device, police said.

John Richard, 23 of Hollis, N.H., and Lawrence Gilman, 20 of Milford, N.H., have been summonsed to appear in Salem District Court Friday morning, Salem police said. They will be charged with malicious or wanton defacing or damaging property over $250 and throwing, secreting, launching, or placing of an incendiary device, police said.
