Toddler grazed by bullet inside Brockton home

A toddler was grazed by a bullet when gunfire broke out in Brockton neighborhood Saturday afternoon, police said.

Brockton police did not identify the home’s address, but said the shooting occurred in the area of Bartlett and Fuller streets.

The boy, who is 3 or 4 years old, was hit in the back of the leg, when a bullet entered into the apartment he was in, said Sergeant Mark Celia, spokesman for Brockton police.

The bullet was “non-penetrating” and “fell off his pants,” Celia said. The child was taken to a local hospital and has been released.

“He’ll be fine,” Celia said by telephone late Saturday afternoon.
