Cambridge officials, led by Mayor Denise Simmons, are creating a fund to assist victims of Saturday’s massive 10-alarm fire in East Cambridge.
The Mayor’s Fire Relief Fund will take donations in person, by mail, and online, city officials said. Gift certificates to department and grocery stores also are welcome.
Scores of people were displaced by the blaze, which damaged at least 11 buildings and spewed smoke that could be seen miles away.
Donors can visit the GoFundMe page by clicking here. Checks made out to The Mayor’s Fire Relief Fund also can be dropped off at City Hall or mailed to Cambridge City Hall, c/o Mayor’s Office; 795 Massachusetts Ave.; Cambridge, MA 02139.
