A fishing crew in the waters off Provincetown pulled up human remains in their nets early Thursday morning, State Police said.

The crew aboard the fishing vessel Hera called the Coast Guard to report the discovery at about 4:35 a.m., State Police spokesman David Procopio said. The Coast Guard then notified State Police.

State Police detectives with the Cape and Islands district attorney's office met the crew at Provincetown harbor later in the morning, Procopio said.

The Cape and Islands district attorney's office said they did not have any more details to immediately release. The incident is under investigation.
