US Secretary of State John F. Kerry will deliver a climate-change speech at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Monday, according to an invitation obtained by the Globe.
In what will likely be his final visit to Massachusetts in his capacity as the nation’s chief diplomat, Kerry will discuss “climate change, innovation, and the global transition to a clean energy future,” according to the invitation.
A Kerry spokeswoman said via e-mail that the office had “[nothing] to announce right now.”
Kerry, preparing to step down later this month, told the Globe in a recent interview that he plans to return to Boston once he has departed Foggy Bottom and will likely seek private-sector work.Jim O’Sullivan can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him on Twitter at @JOSreports.
