Brockton woman is shot dead in apartment

A Brockton woman was found fatally shot Monday evening, triggering a police search for her boyfriend, authorities said.

Around 6 p.m., police found Eugenia Gomes Monteiro, 30, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after responding to a 911 call from a family member. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police issued a notice to be on the lookout for a white Honda Civic driven by Monteiro’s boyfriend Matias Andrade, 38, of Brockton.

Police recovered the car around 8 p.m., but were still looking for Andrade.
