Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz’s tribute to 1913 women’s march
The Jamaica Plain Democrat urged participants to keep up their activism after the march — and to put recurring appointments on their calendars as reminders to take action every month on the issues that motivated them to march.
“If there’s anyone in America who can show this kind of constancy, this kind of activism, day in, day out, month in and month out, it’s the people who make sure that the healthy lunches are packed every night, people who remember all the friends’ birthdays, people who make sure the toilets are cleaned and the budgets are balanced,” Chang-Diaz told the crowd. “Ladies, we know constancy. And this is what’s going to make America great again. So go get ’em.”
