The Boston cardinal’s letter was read in parishes over the weekend as tensions simmer over refugees and immigrants.

Cardinal Sean O’Malley issued words of support to immigrants in the archdiocese, writing a letter that was read in all the parishes over the weekend.

“You are an important part of our family and your Church will not cease to advocate on your behalf,” he wrote.

The letter comes amid simmering tensions over President Trump’s travel ban and proposed border wall.
