Toscano, 54, lived in Randolph with Maureen, his wife of 25 years, and their five children -- Alyssa, Patrick, Mary Cate, William, and Michael , the family said in a statement.

“Our family is devastated by the loss we suffered today,” his family said. “Family was at the center of Joe’s life and defined him.”

“He was a man of great integrity and honor,” the family said. “Joe’s work ethic, generosity and kindness touched everyone he knew.”

Toscano shared his warmth, kindness, curiosity for life, and love of the outdoors with his children, his family said.

A master craftsman, Toscano built the family’s home “with his own hands,” and excelled in the kitchen, too.
