A police dive team searched the water under the Zakim Bridge Monday afternoon for the body of Michael Kelleher, who went missing after a Boston Celtics game Wednesday.
Divers spent hours looking for evidence of Kelleher using sonar, as his family and friends watched from the bridge. No evidence was found, State Police said.
The search began just before noon, officials said.
“We fervently hope that our search of the river will serve the purpose of ruling out that area, and that Mr. Kelleher will be located somewhere unharmed,” State Police said in a statement.
Kelleher, 23, went to the Celtics game with a coworker from a Mexican restaurant in Northborough.Maddie Kilgannon can be reached at email@example.com. Follow her on Twitter @MaddieKilgannon.
