Marty Walsh pays tribute to Prince with a purple City Hall

Like much of the music-loving world, Mayor Marty Walsh is missing Prince.

So to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of the pop music icon, City Hall was lit up in deep purple Thursday night.


Walsh tweeted a photo of the scene and said “we miss you, Prince.”

Walsh has spoken on occassion of his love for pop music and Prince especially.

In 2015, he told the Globe that he’s a fan of “Purple Rain,” and a few weeks later a Globe reporter bumped into Walsh at a Prince concert at the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut.
