One man suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in South Boston around midnight Tuesday, according to Boston Emergency Medical Services.
The shooting took place around 11:39 p.m. Tuesday on Orton Marotta Way, said EMS Lieutenant Edward McCarthy.
He said EMS originally was told that two people were wounded, and that the city’s medical emergency agency sent four crews to the scene in the West Broadway housing development.
But on arrival, they found just the man who was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Boston police said the investigation is continuing.
