Paul Fahey was arraigned on murder charges in 2015.

A Quincy man who beat another man to death in a bar was sentenced to life in prison Thursday morning.

It took a Norfolk Superior Court jury only two hours Tuesday to find Paul J. Fahey, 42, guilty of second-degree murder in the 2015 death of Keith W. Boudreau in a Quincy bar, District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office said in a statement.

Fahey, without provocation, punched Boudreau and stomped on his head before dragging the unconscious man out the back door of the Home Ice Sports Bar on March 23, 2015.

“The witnesses in the bar that day made it very clear that this attack was entirely unprovoked. [Boudreau] was immediately hospitalized and died on April 3,” Morrissey said in a statement.

Members of the Boudreau family delivered victim impact statements at the sentencing, including Kathleen Boudreau, the victim’s mother.

“I miss my son more than anyone could ever imagine. But I find great strength in knowing he was a decent man,” she said, according to a transcript provided by the district attorney.

Boudreau’s sister added that her brother was “the kind of person who has literally given the shirt off of his back to give to somebody else.”

The family also had harsh words for Fahey.

“The damage you have caused to his two young boys is unspeakable. I hope that night plays out in his mind over and over and over, and haunts him the way it does us,” Boudreau’s sister said.

His mother expressed her anger more succinctly.

“Mr. Fahey, in closing, God forgives, I don’t,” she said.

Fahey will be eligible for parole in fifteen years, prosecutors said.
