Three-year-old girl falls out third-story window in Framingham

A three-year-old girl was flown by helicopter to Boston Children’s Hospital after falling out of a third-story window at an apartment in Framingham Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to Lieutenant Patricia Grigas, spokeswoman for Framingham police.

The extent of the girl’s injuries was not immediately clear, but officials were concerned that she hit the pavement when she fell, Grigas said.

She was conscious and alert when she was taken to the hospital.

It was not immediately clear if the girl lives in the apartment, but she was there with family, Grigas said.

Police do not yet know the cause of the fall, Grigas said.

The Department of Children and Families received a report about the incident and are investigating, according to Andrea Grossman, spokeswoman for the department.
