A signal at the MBTA’s Red Line Davis Square station in Somerville failed for the second straight day and commuters on the Orange Line were being slowed during the Tuesday morning commute by a disabled train.
The T reported “moderate” delays on the Orange Line around 8:43 a.m., citing a disabled train southbound at the Community College station in Charlestown.
On the Red Line, the T was reporting “minor” delays due to a failure of a signal, the same signal that failed Monday morning. T personnel spent several hours working on the signal on Monday and are back there again Tuesday.
“It involves the same signal. Personnel are on scene, trouble-shooting the problem,” he wrote. “The cause has not yet been determined.”
The T first reported “minor” delays on the Red Line at 7:25 a.m. and reported normal service had resumed around 8:35 a.m.
Signal problems at the Davis Station also plagued the Red Line on Monday.John R. Ellement can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow him on Twitter @JREbosglobe.
