A BU grad student wrote a paper about Kim Kardashian — and she loved it

Boston University graduate student Christopher Sumlin. Handout

First-year Boston University graduate student Christopher Sumlin was so excited that he aced his first paper of grad school — a case study project on Kim Kardashian West and her Kim Kardashian: Hollywood video game — that he took to Twitter to crow about his accomplishment.

He apparently wasn’t the only one excited about the paper.

The official Twitter account for the game replied to the post, asking Sumlin for a copy of his paper.

Turns out, Kardashian West loved it, too.

The reality TV star, who has nearly 57 million — yes, million — Twitter followers, re-tweeted Sumlin’s post on Wednesday, adding, “Wow this is so cool!!!”

“My reaction when she tweeted me was so overwhelming,” Sumlin wrote in an e-mail to the Globe.

Sumlin, who is pursuing a master of science in TV producing and management, said he was “deeply surprised and honored for her to have acknowledged my work.”

“Not only was my grade good on the paper, one of my favorite celebrities acknowledged me,” he wrote. “It was a dream come true.”

Sumlin, a huge fan of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” said he met Kardashian at a 2015 book signing in Los Angeles, and was elated to see her Twitter acknowledgment two years later.

“Kim Kardashian West is my favorite. I’ll remember this day forever,” Sumlin wrote.
