18-year-old identified as victim of suspicious death in Goffstown, N.H.

The death of an 18-year-old man who was found at the scene of a reported shooting Sunday in Goffstown, N.H., has been ruled a homicide, New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald said in a statement Monday.

Ian Jewell, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was found wounded in the downtown area of Goffstown on Sunday afternoon after a shooting was reported there. Police responded to the scene of the report around 4:20 p.m., in the parking lot of an Ace Hardware store at 5 Depot St., MacDonald said.

Jewell was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval determined Monday that Jewell died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
