Distracted driving caused a motorist to crash through a fence and into the side of a home in Quincy Tuesday morning, police said.
The vehicle hit the side of the home at 16/18 Quarry St. around 10 a.m., police said in statements posted to their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Photos show a small white car pressed against the facade of the house and a white fence shattered in the yard.
“Driver reaching for phone and speeding caused this morning’s crash,” police said in a tweet.
Helicopters were circling the scene, according to a Quincy Fire Department dispatcher, but no one was injured in the incident.
Police temporarily closed Quarry Street from Garfield Street to Smith Street, but the road was reopened around 11:20 a.m.
The driver was arrested and charged with operating to endanger, speeding, impeded operation, open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
