Two Revere men arrested for slashing 40 vehicles’ tires overnight

Two men were arrested Wednesday after slashing the tires of around 40 vehicles early in the morning, Revere Police Chief James Guido said in an e-mail.

The men, James J. Lyons, 25, and Corey A. Oliva, 22, both of Revere, were arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Chelsea District Court, the Suffolk County district attorney’s office said in a statement.

Lyons and Oliva face charges that include 20 counts of malicious destruction of property over $250. More charges are expected, prosecutors said.

Bail was set at $1,500 for Lyons and $500 for Oliva. Both are expected back in court Jan. 4.
