Disabled clamming boat rescued from Cape Cod Bay

Authorities in Dennis rescued a man who was stranded on a clamming boat in Cape Cod Bay on Dec. 29.

According to a press release from the Dennis Fire Department, the Shuck’n Around became disabled when ice was sucked into its impellers and the motor quit.

Deputy Harbormaster Bill McKenzie and Dennis Firefighters Wayne Mayo and Shane Sargent responded to the call and the Dennis harbor boat was able to get a line to the disabled vessel and tow it safely back to Sesuit Harbor, the release said.
