One dead in Seabrook, N.H. fire

One person died in a house fire in Seabrook, N.H. on New Year’s Day, officials said.

Seabrook firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 36 Norman Road at about 1:10 p.m. Monday, the State of New Hampshire Department of Safety announced Tuesday.

When they arrived they discovered the residence was “fully involved” and that a person inside was unaccounted for, the release stated.


But a search of the property turned up a deceased person, officials said.

An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, but a positive identification had not yet been made as of early Tuesday evening, the release stated.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the release said.
