NH residents urged to be patient waiting for fuel deliveries

As bitter cold temperatures drive demand for home heating products, New Hampshire residents are urged to be patient.

Perry Plummer, the state’s director of emergency management, said consumers who call their gas or oil delivery providers can face waits of up to 10 minutes or longer.


“Be patient and stay on the call,” Plummer said in a release issued Tuesday. “Fuel is available and service providers are making deliveries as quickly as possible.”

Restrictions of fuel delivery have been eased, as a frigid air settles across New England.

But while drivers may work longer shifts, driver safety remains a property, Plummer said.

“Drivers need enough time between shifts so they can safely make deliveries,” he said.

Residents who are in danger of running out of fuel, or who feel they should seek shelter in a community warming center, should call 2-1-1, the state’s community resources line, the release stated.
