North Shore commuter rail passengers are dealing with a reduced number of trains as Keolis Commuter Services and the MBTA deal with track damage from last week’s storm.

Keolis canceled 10 trains on the Newburyport/Rockport Line that were scheduled to operate during the morning and evening commutes. The trains will be canceled for the rest of the work week, Keolis said in a statement.

During the morning commute, trains 152, 160, 153, and 191 are canceled, while trains 113, 193, 171, 120, 194, and 176 won’t run during the evenings,according to officials.

A combination of storm surge and high tides during last week’s storm generated historic flooding levels along the coast, including a half-mile stretch of track used by the Newburyport/Rockport line trains, according to Keolis.

According to Keolis, the salt-saturated track area is triggering signals to turn and off erratically, forcing trains to stop. Crews have been on the scene around the clock working to resolve the issue, Keolis said.

“We appreciate the patience of our customers as MBTA and Keolis teams continue to work 24/7 to repair this issue,’’ the company said in the statment.
