Wegmans says its massive new Natick store will open on April 29, and feature a full-service Mexican restaurant and bar called Blue Dalia led by Chef Roberto Santibañez.
“The restaurant will offer authentic, contemporary Mexican food and craft cocktails prepared with market-fresh ingredients,” the supermarket chain said in a statement.
The store also will boast a fast-casual restaurant called The Burger Bar, serving burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and milkshakes.
The supermarket — located in the former J.C. Penney space at the Natick Mall — will span 146,500 square feet over two floors and include 100 seats for in-store cafe dining.
The new location will employ 325 part-time and 225 full-time workers with “plenty of opportunity for career growth and development,” store manager Rich Boscia said in the statement, adding that the company offers “flexible scheduling, industry-leading benefits, and an employee scholarship program.”
Wegmans — based in Rochester, N.Y. — burst onto the local supermarket scene in 2011 with a store in Northborough before opening more locations in Chestnut Hill, Burlington, and Westwood. The Natick branch is the sixth Massachusetts-based Wegmans location.
