A barge worker fell in frigid waters Tuesday morning beneath the North Washington Street Bridge in Boston and was quickly rescued by crew members, the Coast Guard said.
Petty Officer Third Class Andrew Barresi, a Coast Guard spokesman, said the worker fell off the tugboat Virginia and was in the water for less than a minute before the crew got him out.
He was taken to a nearby State Police marina to be evaluated. It wasn’t immediately clear if he was taken to an area hospital.
Barresi said he didn’t have the time of the incident under the bridge, which connects Charlestown to the North End.Travis Andersen can be reached at email@example.com. Follow him on Twitter @TAGlobe.
