Signal problem delays Red Line, MBTA says

The MBTA’s Red Line Thursday night experienced “minor residual delays due to an earlier signal problem,” the transit agency tweeted just after 8 o’clock.

But frustrated passengers tweeted that the delays weren’t minor at all.

“It took me three hours to get home,”@kchamilton01 wrote shortly before 9:30 p.m.

“I’ve been sitting on the same trsin [sic] for an hour and half and still nowhere close to destination,”@Lawjarptweets fumed at about 9 p.m. “ This isn’t no “minor” delay. Downplaying at its worst. #mbta”

“I got on the redline, broadway stop at 7:40 pm. I’m now at porter, trying to get to Davis and it’s 8:53 pm.,” @beatty_jaywrote. “Train full of people just want to go home. This is unacceptable, yet again.... but hey, signal problems right?

Joe Pesaturo, a spokesman for the T, did not immediately respond to request for comments Thursday night.
