Quincy baby girl’s death investigated

An 11-month-old baby girl from Quincy died Saturday at a Boston hospital, two days after she was taken there for a medical emergency, the Norfolk district attorney’s office said.

The state medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, said David Traub, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office.

State Police assigned to the office and Quincy police are investigating, he said.

Officials responded to a call for medical assistance Thursday at the baby’s home in the Wollaston section of Quincy, Traub said.

The baby was taken to a hospital, where she remained until her death, he said.

No further information was available Saturday evening.
