Non-emergency state workers have delayed opening Wednesday

As Massachusetts digs out from a blizzard, most state employees will have a delayed start to the work day Wednesday.

All non-emergency state workers will start at 11 a.m., Governor Charlie Baker announced in a press release Tuesday night.

“The delayed start will allow crews time to clear snow and ensure public safety as residents return to their daily routines,” the statement said.

Baker advised resident to use public transportation and to check www.MBTA.com/winter for updates.

But courthouses in the western Massachusetts counties of Berkshire, Hampden and Hampshire will operate on a regular schedule, the judiciary said.
