A Hingham family trust recently won the first of five $4 million prizes in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Instant Jackpot” game, the lottery office announced.

The Oak Tree Family Trust of Hingham, represented by trustee Michael Baker, an attorney at Baker Law Group in Hingham, brought home $2.6 million after choosing the onetime cash option March 23, the lottery office said in a statement.

“Our client hired us to create a trust to accept the proceeds on their behalf,” Baker said Wednesday. “They play about once a week as kind of an after-work thing.”

The family lives on the South Shore and is excited to look at retiring earlier, Baker said. He declined to share further information about the family members, who wanted to stay anonymous.

“They’re also still digesting the surprise,” he said. “They were almost in disbelief. You have to look at the ticket 100 times before you actually realize you won.”

Lindy’s General Store on Mattakeesett Street in Pembroke sold the $10 winning ticket and will be rewarded with a $40,000 bonus for its sale.
