As the Boston Marathon gets underway, here’s a look at the signs encouraging runners along the 26.2-mile route.
At the beginning of the race Monday morning, some signs bore the weary signs of sogginess amid the downpour in the Boston area.

And although the Patriots might have lost this year’s Super Bowl to the Eagles, one apparent New England fan seemed adamant to remind spectators of the team’s epic comeback the year before.

Meanwhile, at least one spectator tried to urge runners on with (factually questionable) promises of sunshine at the finish line.

One woman decided to surprise her husband, who is running the marathon, with news of her pregnancy.
Cassi Delatorre, 24, of Silver City, NM, is surprising her marathoner husband, Xavier, at the finish line with some news: She?s pregnant with their third child. ?I?ve been telling him: ?After Boston we?ll try for another.? I wanted to make the big announcement here.? #Boston2018 pic.twitter.com/MkFTmhWDQo

Meanwhile, another spectator divulged her secret to making her Marathon signs last: Wrapping them in Glad Press’n Seal plastic.
Shout out to @gladproducts for the awesome Press?n Seal! We wrapped our poster board signs for the Boston marathon and they withstood 4+ hours of wind and constant rain. #yourock #youwrap #BostonStrong@mack_corn @5jmartdadrun26 @JuliaMartinH pic.twitter.com/BlZU2Rfqtc
