Former president George H.W. Bush spent his 94th birthday relaxing at his summer home in Maine.

The 41st president, who celebrated his 90th birthday by going sky-diving, took it easy Tuesday, simply kicking back in Kennebunkport.

“He’s having a low-key day with his family, which is his definition of perfection these days,” said Jim McGrath, a spokesman for Bush.

McGrath said former president George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, were there for the occasion, as well as many other family members.

Bush is the first former US president to turn 94, according to the Associated Press.

It was also Bush’s first birthday since his wife of 73 years, Barbara, died in April at 92.

Bonnie Clement owns H.B. Provisions in Kennebunk, which is just a few miles away from the Bush compound on Walker’s Point in Kennebunkport. Clement said she and her partner, Helen Thorgalsen, befriended the Bushes when they opened their general store about 16 years ago. When Clement and Thorgalsen got married in 2013, the Bushes attended and even signed their marriage certificate as official witnesses.

Clement described the former president as an “incredibly wonderful man.”

“We’re incredibly thrilled that he’s here, back home in Maine, to celebrate his 94th birthday,” she said.

Clement said she was happy that so many of Bush’s family and friends were on hand for his special day.

Many also turned to social media to wish the 41st president a happy birthday.

Jenna Bush Hager posted a photo on Instagram and wrote: “Happiest 94th to our Gamps — the anchor of our family, our compass. I’ve loved being with you in your favorite place, by the magnificent sea.”

Jeb Bush Jr. tweeted out birthday greetings on Twitter. “Happy Birthday to one of the Great Leaders of the Greatest Generation! HBD Gampster! #41 #GreatestGeneration.”

George P. Bush hinted that he would like to see his grandfather go skydiving again. “Happy 94th birthday to my Gamps @GeorgeHWBush — very much looking forward to you jumping again on your 95th,” he tweeted.
