Delays on the Red Line due to signal issues

MBTA riders faced delays on the Red Line upward of 15 minutes on Wednesday night due to signal problems, officials said.

The delays were posted on Twitter shortly after 6:30 p.m. alerting riders of a signal problem at Davis. More delays were announced around 7:15 p.m. due to another signal problem at Broadway.

“There was an issue with the train’s operational systems,” MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an e-mail. “It resulted in delays of 15 minutes.”

Some T riders expressed frustration with the delays on Twitter, and maintained that the delays were worse than MBTA officials said.

The Red Line was running with regular service again as of 7:48 p.m., the MBTA posted on Twitter.
