N.H. worker dies in Rowley after falling from 50-foot tree

A New Hampshire tree worker died Thursday morning after falling from a 50-foot tree in Rowley, officials said.

David Bova, 34, of Salem, N.H., was preparing to remove a branch outside a home at 29 Main St. when he suddenly fell, according to a statement from the Essex County district attorney’s office. The incident occurred between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., the statement said.

Bova was working with a crew from Mayer Tree Service, a company based in Essex.

He was immediately transported to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, where he was pronounced dead later that morning.

Foul play is not suspected, but state and local police are still investigating the incident.
