A man was killed in a Dorchester shooting on Wednesday night, just hours after four other men were injured in another shooting less than a mile away, according to Boston police.
The man, who is believed to be in his thirties, was shot in the area of Brookford and Dacia streets in Dorchester around 9:50 p.m., Boston police wrote on their website. He was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he later died.
Earlier in the evening, around 6:40 p.m., four men were shot on Fayston Street in Dorchester, just a few feet from where children were playing outside, police said. The men range from ages 22 to late 40s, Boston Police Commissioner Williams Evans said at the scene.

One of the men was critically injured and taken to Boston Medical Center, according to police.
