A 26-year-old worker at a metal fabrication business in Sharon died Thursday after becoming trapped in a machine, officials said.
The man was pronounced dead at Norwood Hospital, where he was taken after emergency responders freed him, Sharon police Deputy Chief Donald Brewer said.
Sharon firefighters received a call at 9:30 a.m. for a person stuck in a machine at Industrial Metal Products on Merchant Street, Sharon Fire Department Captain John McLean said.
His family was notified, but they requested that his name be withheld, Brewer said.
The business, inMetal, has provided sheet metal fabrication and assembly for 60 years, according to its website, and offers other services such as CNC laser cutting, punching, and milling and robotic welding.
