The body of a missing Massachusetts man was found in Rindge, N.H. this week, and his death is being investigated as a homicide, officials said Friday.
Brandon Chicklis, 20, of Westminster was reported missing on June 23 to police in the central Massachusetts town. Chicklis had told family members that he planned to visit a relative in Windham, N.H., New Hampshire State Police said in a statement.
He was not seen again, and was not in touch with family or friends, according to the statement.
Six days later, Chicklis’ car, a gray Honda Civic with Massachusetts license plates, was found in a supermarket parking lot about 44 miles away in Rindge.
On Tuesday, a jogger spotted a body off Route 119 east in Rindge and notified police. State Police found Chicklis’ body near the side of the road, officials said
An autopsy was performed, but the specific cause of Chicklis’ death is being withheld, pending further investigation, according to the NH attorney general’s office.
Anyone who may have been in contact with Chicklis are asked to contact New Hampshire State Police at 603-223-8729.
Westminster police and New Hampshire State Police had posted about Chicklis’s disappearance in June.
