A small fire was quickly extinguished Sunday morning at the Encore Boston Harbor casino under construction in Everett , officials said.

The Everett Fire Department received the call for the fire at about 9:30 a.m., Chief Tony Carli said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire on the fourth-floor roof was ignited by sparks from welders working on the roof of the 22nd floor of an adjacent tower, said Greg John, a spokesman for the casino.

It was extinguished by on-site workers before firefighters arrived, he said.

John said he did not know the exact amount of damage caused by the fire, but that he would estimate it in the tens of thousands of dollars.

“It really wasn’t that big of a fire,” he said Sunday evening. “This will have absolutely no impact on our opening.”

Carli said the fire is under investigation.
